How do you prepare Korean documents for submission to Colombia? The basic flow is as follows.

Colombia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cancillería) is the sole competent authority and offers an online system covering application through issuance.

Guide by Purpose for Colombia

Required documents vary by receiving institution and situation, so the list below is for reference only and is not a definitive guide.

International Marriage

A certificate of marriage relations or family relations may be used, but the exact list needs confirmation.

Employment / Immigration

A criminal record certificate or degree certificate may be used, but the exact list needs confirmation.

Study Abroad

A degree certificate or transcript may be used, but the exact list needs confirmation.

Business / Corporate

A certified copy of the corporate register or business registration certificate may be used, but the exact list needs confirmation.

We do not assert that submission to Colombia categorically requires all of the documents listed. The exact required documents vary by receiving institution, so please confirm directly with that institution.

Documents Brought from Colombia to Korea

Competent authority — Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cancillería), the sole apostille authority; the online system "Apostilla y legalización en línea" handles the entire process from application to issuance

Cancillería does not separately certify translators; "traductor oficial" status is obtained via certification from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Universidad de Antioquia, or the Ministerio de Justicia's Certificado de Idoneidad. Since 2020-12-01, domestic official translations no longer need a separate apostille, but translations for submission abroad require notarization of the translator's signature followed by an apostille.

The exact Cancillería fee is unconfirmed. Many private "apostilla" agency websites exist — be careful not to confuse them with the official government site.
